Healthy & Homemade “Cereal”

For a lot of foods, particularly plant based ones, eating them raw or lightly cooked will retain the most vitamins, minerals and enzymes in the food – this is the good stuff that nourishes your body, including your hair, skin and nails. This particular meal is loaded with raw nuts, seed and fruits providing protein, healthy fats, antioxidants and more for your body to love.

I have to give credit to my sister for this idea! It is such a fun and DELICIOUS alternative to processed cereal. Eat it for breakfast, as a snack or pre-workout meal. Mix it up and try different things! This bowl that I made for breakfast is gluten free and mostly raw. It includes …

  • 1/8 cup of cooked gluten free steel cut oats
  • Raw slivered almonds
  • Raw pumpkin seeds
  • Raw sunflower seeds
  • Shredded coconut
  • Organic raw honey
  • Cinnamon
  • Organic blueberries
  • Sliced organic apple

You can use any nuts or seeds – try chia seed and hemp seed which are both nutrient rich super foods. Add fresh strawberries, banana or unsweetened raisins … the possibilities are endless! Pour a little bit of almond or coconut milk in the mix and enjoy! 🙂
